The Meab story started over 50 years ago, when a young Meab set out on her travels around Europe. She was inspired by great artists such as Faberge, the renowned enamellist. She was also inspired by local crafts people who were able to re-use materials to create unique and vibrant designs.
Meab returned home and developed her own ‘open firing’ technique utilising waste copper water cylinders. Meab’s technique allowed her to create not only unique but vibrant and cutting edge designs.
Meab passed on these skills to her daughter Clair who has developed her own individual style which she has used to create larger decorative pieces as well as collections combining silver, silver plate and other metal alloys.
Meab and Clair work together in their studio workshop on their farm in the midlands of Ireland. They pride themselves on handcrafting jewellery and art that is authentic, affordable and appealing.
