Create Green – sustainable by design

Offaly Local Development Company and Westmeath Community Development have developed a craft training and development programme designed to support the creative sector in Offaly and Westmeath.

Green Business Programme

The Green Business Programme, funded through the LEADER Rural Development Programme, is designed to support businesses in their journey towards sustainability. It focuses on sustainable product development, incorporating best practices in business development with consideration for the Sustainable Development Goals. The programme also aims to foster meaningful partnerships and business relations with other organisations.

Going green

Going green offers a multitude of benefits for businesses, including cost reduction, improved efficiency, and the creation of healthier workplaces. Additionally, it plays a vital role in enhancing brand reputation and fostering customer loyalty. With the growing demand for environmentally friendly goods and services, businesses have the opportunity to not only be a part of this movement but also to share their unique sustainable stories.

The pilot programme

The pilot programme, developed and implemented by Offaly Local Development Company and Westmeath Community Development, delved into the realms of Green Arts of Sustainable Business Practice, Creating a Sustainability Action Plan, and Sustainable Product Development. During the programme, each participant identified their individual Sustainable Development Goals, which are now showcased on their respective websites.

Offaly Local Development Company
