Course Details
DAY 1
- The importance of good images. How to represent your brand, products & services.
- Golden Rules of Photography
- Understand and apply the Rule of Thirds to product photography
- The importance of lines
- Focus
- Perspective
- Learn where to position yourself and the camera to achieve different looks.
- Explore different ways of approaching the same product (flatlay, eye level, 45-degree, close-ups/detail).
- How to maximise results for each photo set-up.
- Workflow
- How to generate content through brainstorming
- Idea generation, mood board
- Include emotions into the formula of idea generation
- Colour as an element for inspiration and to enrich the visual narrative
- How to set up a basic light-set that can be replicated with artificial light
- Understand how to use window light
- Learn how to set up a basic product shot using a window, a white card, and a reflector
Participants will have the opportunity to do practical exercises for each of the sections.
DAY 2
- Getting the shoot ready
- Gathering elements (backdrops, props, equipment).
- Styling
- Practical demonstration on creating a flatlay.
- Camera basics
- Exposure triangle
- The Importance of White Balance
- Shooting
- How to set our equipment (tripod, camera, lights, reflectors).
- Editing
- A quick tour of Lightroom and Snapseed
- Basic general edits
Participants will have the opportunity to do practical exercises for each section.
